AT&T is a global leader in providing communications, information and entertainment products and services. It operates the number two wireless provider, AT&T Mobility, with almost 86 million U.S. subscribers to its 3G and 4G wireless voice and data services. The company recently proposed to acquire T-Mobile USA's 33.6 million subscribers which, if approved, will make AT&T Mobility the largest wireless provider in the U.S. In addition, the company offers its U-verse video, voice and data product to almost 30 million homes nationwide. Given the company's participation in the slower growth telecommunications industry, the company's profit growth rate is typically slower that the average company; however, it generates significant free cash flow and offers one of the more attractive dividends of any large cap company in the S&P 500. AT&T is a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
